Goodbye Paperkapers – Hello Cupid and Psyche

As of January 25th Paperkapers and it’s subsequent stores on Etsy and Folksy will gradually be closed.

Fear not, this is not a sad moment, quite the opposite strangely.

A very long story and life changing moments of recent months, has taken me along a new path, or appears to be sending me along one.  Therefore, Paperkapers is now part of my creative history and my new venture can be found at http://www.etsy.com/shop/cupidandpsyche

I will be transferring some products from my paperkapers store and adding new items over the next few months.

I hope you will share in my transition and join me on my new life journey.. wherever it takes me : )

Happy New Year…

Happy New Year to everyone who passes through my site.  Am hopeful that 2011 will bring great things, changes and hopefully a new creative streak.

I’ve began 2011 in a strangely positive mood, let’s hope it lasts a while.

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and creative New Year xx

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells…..

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas from Paperkapers.  Unfortunately due to various reasons my handcrafted Christmas didn’t go to plan.  I didn’t make as much as I’d wanted to a few months ago and therefore didn’t add many new items to my shops.  I will be starting on some new items for 2011 soon and hope that I can get some products built up as well as making items for fun too.

Things with our full time business may also be changing  in 2011. Martin is aiming for the gaming design industry now with Horizon Studios, so fingers crossed things turn out well there.  We will still keep some of our printing and design business going under our Imaginative Ink name and will still produce printed merchandise and promo gifts.

Paperkapers may also be getting another facelift and change of design during 2011, maybe even a name change, but that I am not 100% sure of yet.

Until then, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a creative New Year

Think an update is in order!

Haven’t updated this site in a while, combination of school summer holidays and having nothing new to report. I’m trying to work on some new designs and thinking of Christmas items.

My Batty Book ribbons have been doing quite well , along with my dragonfly wedding card, I am hoping to work on some variations on the wedding card soon.

Back in July I spent my time making cards and gifts for the kids teachers.  My daughter had a male teacher, so I made him a post it note book and matching pen, unfortunately I didn’t get to take any photographs of it.  My daughter made his card using  drawing she had done of a Tiger.

My son was in nursery and had 3 teachers!  So I made them each a card and a crayon style book ribbon each.  The day before they finished school, my son decided he wanted a book ribbon for his new teacher he will have in September when he starts reception!!  So I made a 4th one!  I only have photo’s of these on my phone and as yet don’t have them to upload onto this site.  I do have a photo of the cards I made for the nursery teachers…

So  just over 3 weeks remain of the summer holidays, or as today has proven more like Autumnal holidays.  We haven’t done too much yet, hoping to get out and about next week.  Last week 2 kids were at theatre school for the week and this last two weeks my eldest has had an extra paper round at teatime, limiting how far we could go.

Hopefully I will have some new products to add to my stores very soon, until then I hope everyone enjoys what is left of the Summer?!

It’s all about the Owls

This is my first attempt at a blog, so please bear with me!… I finished up a card and gift yesterday for Mumsie (Martin’s Mum in other words!), for her birthday.  I’d started work on a felt owl to place on a card last year, but never got it finished.  Happened to find it again and used it this year.   I turned him into a fridge magnet and placed him on her card, was rather pleased with how it turned out.

Alongside the card I made her a little felt Hoot Owl charm  or keyring.  Was also pleased with him too.  Am  quite into making these little felt decorations.  I was going to make him scented, but couldn’t decide on a scent so just left him with stuffing, I may make some more of this little guy sometime soon.

We’d also bought her a lovely hessian type bag with an owl print on, which set off the owl theme and yes she does like  owls, thankfully!  The bag came from another Etsy seller Snowdon, who has some lovely printed bags… click on the image to visit her store…

SnowdonOwlBag My next task is to make a few more birthday cards, since May is a pretty busy Birthday month.. Martin, nephew and niece coming up!
